This section features current projects I'm working though it is mostly just short riffs, chord progressions and licks.
This is the main motif and chord progression for a song called cotton socks that I am working on. The piece is in B major but makes use of modal interchange by borrowing chords from B mixolydian. The chord progression for the first four bars is a I(maj9) - VI(7alt) - ii(m9) - V(7). The progression for the next 4 bars is a I(7) - bii(m7b5) - ii(m7) - V(7) - IV(7).
This is an instrumental piece I'm working on which I'm Calling "yellow cars". The key is in D Dorian but uses modal interchange borrowing chords from D Aeolian and Phrygian. I wrote the melody by improvising on my acoustic guitar with a capo on the third fret and came up with a suitable harmony for the piano afterwards.
This is a riff for a song I'm working on called "the legend(and myths?) of Jack". Making use of the D natural minor and A Phrygian scales, the third and fourth bar harmonises the melody in 6th's. I am currently unsure about the chordal harmony for this song whether I want I full progression or just a couple of sustained chords.
This is the main riff for a song I am working on called "scapegoat"
This is an idea is came up with when improvising legato lines on my guitar, as such I notated what I was playing and came up with suitable chords underneath, making use of upper chord extensions, 6/9 chords, suspended chords and altered chords. At this moment this piece is untitled however I would like to incorporate it into a song or instrumental piece of music in the near future, Particularly something similar to the canterbury jazz fusion sound of progressive rock.
